Volunteer Programs
International Service Corp (ISC)
ISC is a community service volunteer program for international students wanting to get involved in the UNM and Albuquerque community. If you are interested in volunteering within the Albuquerque area while also meeting other people and helping the community then please leave your name and email. All volunteers who complete 10 hours of service will receive a completion certificate.
Benefits of joining ISC as a volunteer: Become a member of a unique project that will allow you to engage in the Albuquerque Community within and outside UNM. Build meaningful connections for future career opportunities in your field. Build your resume by becoming a member of the international service corp. The goal is to enhance intercultural interaction between students and the Albuquerque Community

International Students Inc. (ISI)
ISI is a NON-UNM community Christian volunteer organization that provides services to international students and scholars. While ISI is a Christian organization, there is no obligation to participate in any religious activities and they accept volunteers who are not affiliated with the Christian church. Services include:
- Airport pick-up
- Short-term home-stays for new international students and scholars
- Furniture giveaways
- Friendship partner programs
- Activities and events

International Speaker Program (ISP)
GEO coordinates International student volunteers who are willing to present about their countries and cultures. If you would like to request an international student volunteer to come to your class or another venue, please email geo@unm.edu at least 2 weeks in advance of the presentation with the following information:
- Requestor’s name, email & phone number
- Course name & department (please note if this is an undergraduate/graduate course) OR describe the venue for the presentation
- Date & time of presentation
- General topic/issue of the requested presentation
Please note that we also have staff with expertise on immigration compliance (J-1 & F-1), ESL, cultural integration, international partnerships and more.
